Ruth Lee Ltd has almost 60 years’ experience and the expertise to bring training to life.
Based in a factory in North Wales we have designed our products in consultation with our customers including the Royal Navy, Fire and rescue Service, RNLI and health care professionals to make sure provide exactly that you need for your training.
Each manikin is built so that its weight distribution is anatomically correct – your teams will think they are rescuing or training with a live person!
Our water rescue manikins are provided with foam which can be positioned in the legs or chest to affect how it floats.
We supply manikins to a wide range of industries, from the fire and rescue service, armed forces and paramedics, to lifeguards, mountain rescue teams, health and safety professionals, and even film and television studios!
Each of our manikins has been designed with specific uses in mind, from water rescue to technical rescue, we have a manikin for the job!
Ruth Lee manikins are made to last. Compared to some of the more rigid dummies you might have used in the past, our manikins are far more durable.
They are manufactured in the same flame retardant Polyester used in Police ballistic/stab vests and are tough enough to withstand being buried under concrete or steel lintels – they will even survive being driven over by a 4x4 vehicle!
Crush him, bend him, drive over him… We’re confident that you won’t find a more durable manikin!
Just as people come in all shapes and sizes, we know that manikins need to reflect this so that they will present a realistic challenge for training.
Our range includes manikins as small as a 5kg (11lbs) baby and go all the way up to a 260kg (572lbs) bariatric adult!
We are very proud to be a British business and Ruth Lee Ltd is the only ISO 9001:2008 accredited manufacturer of rescue training manikins within Europe, so you can be assured that you will be training with a manikin whose quality is second to none.
We have a team of more than 20 working from a factory in North Wales and we are very proud of the team we have built, who are dedicated to customer service and quality workmanship.
As well as our manikins, we supply a range of products which will enhance their features or increase the longevity of their life!
This includes a range of overalls, drag protectors, carry holdalls, weighted vests, realistic facemasks and even a shoutbox to give your manikin a voice during rescue training!
I cannot recommend these manikins enough. The Man Overboard manikin is excellent for water rescue training scenarios and also come in black for search and rescue operations to make it that little more challenging.
Chris Kendall – Global Fire & Rescue Partnership
We have been training with several different Manikin’s supplied by Ruth Lee for some time now. The ‘Offshore Manikin’ model meets all our requirements; it is robustly constructed, hard wearing, realistically sized and weighted and articulates easily where required. It has proved to be an invaluable piece of kit which we use regularly on both training courses and on board ships and installations whilst undertaking drill sessions. I therefore have no hesitation endorsing this particular model.
Adam Allan - Mines Rescue Marine
This manikin will prove extremely useful for our scenario drills where we have to practise getting patients out of difficult situations, such as a wrecked car.
Dr Mark Knight - Wales Air Ambulance
Ruth Lee manikins were an obvious choice for ongoing on board training.
